A photographer has filed a lawsuit against Kendrick Lamar accusing the rapper of using his work without permission.
According to Bossip.com, Giordano Cipriani is suing Lamar, Interscope Records and Aftermath Entertainment, claiming that his 2011 photo taken in Africa of a mother breastfeeding two babies was used to promote the single “The Blacker the Berry” from Lamar’s latest album, To Pimp a Butterlfly, but that he was never asked for permission to use the photo, or paid for its use. Cipriani is seeking a cease-and-desist order to stop the picture from being used as well as damages for the use of the photo to date.
In his suit, Cipriani states that the Compton rapper used the photo on his YouTube and Facebook pages, and wants $150,000 for each time the image was used, plus legal fees.
