Columbia RecordsPharrell Williams has scored seven nominations for the 56th Annual Grammy Awards, including two in the Record of the Year category for two of the year’s biggest hits: Daft Punk‘s “Get Lucky” and Robin Thicke‘s “Blurred Lines.” However, few people know that he has the potential to make history with his nomination in the Producer of the Year, Non-Classical category.
The hitmaker previously won that award 10 years ago as one-half of the Neptunes, alongside Chad Hugo. If he wins again this year, Skateboard P will become only the third producer in Grammy history to win in this category both on his own and with a partner.
Pharrell would certainly be in good company. The others to accomplish that feat includes Quincy Jones, who won twice on his own and once with Michael Jackson, as well as Babyface, who won three times on his own and once with L.A. Reid.
The Grammy Awards airs January 26, 2014, beginning at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.
