Earlier this week, organizers announced that Kanye West is scheduled to play England’s Glastonbury Festival, taking place later this summer. But there’s a British fan petitioning to have Kanye kicked off of the bill.
A man launched the petition via Change.org petition, and it’s already attracted over 45,000 supporters.
“Kanye West is an insult to music fans all over the world. We spend hundreds of pounds to attend glasto, and by doing so, expect a certain level of entertainment,” the petition reads. “Kanye has been very outspoken on his views on music….he should listen to his own advice and pass his headline slot on to someone deserving! Lets prevent this musical injustice now!”
Ironically, the rapper’s loyal fans have launched their own petition, titled “Cancel all other performers and rename the festival “Yeezus Tour.” Aside from “five days of the almighty Yeezus,” the petition suggests: “Maybe they could hire Beck to perform during an intermission or hand out popcorn or something.”
The Glastonbury Festival, which is already sold out, will run from June 24 through June 28 in Somerset, England.
