RZA has become the latest celebrity to express his grief over the death of Paul Walker, who was killed in a car accident on Saturday in Santa Clarita, California. The Wu-Tang Clan rapper has released a musical dedication on Sunday night for the beloved Fast and Furious actor.
RZA posted a heartfelt song called “Destiny Bends” on his SoundCloud page as well as a message, which reveals how he became friends with Walker.
“This song, entitled ‘Destiny Bends’ was written last night after hearing the tragic news of the loss of a good man named Paul Walker. I met Paul on the set of the film Brick Mansion, where we talked, laughed and exchanged ideas of life and fatherhood,” RZA wrote. “I only knew him personally for less than a year, but we knew each other through our work and art.”
The rapper adds that the song was crafted with his sons and features vocalist Will Wells. “We dedicate it to Paul Walker. A good man. We had plans to continue working with each other in the future. It seemed destined, but ‘destiny bends,'” RZA concludes.
Walker was riding in the passenger side of a Porsche Carrera GT that went up in flames after hitting a light pole and a tree. Hours before the incident, the actor took part in a charity event to benefit the victims of Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines.
