Credit: Cassandra Hannagan/Getty ImagesHarlem rapper Azealia Banks had her ego handed to her by a fourteen-year-old girl Tuesday night after the “212” rapper went after former One Direction member, Zayn Malik.
The social media rap star got into a war of words with 14-year-old Disney actress Skai Jackson, who tweeted, “Azealia Banks needs to simmer down a little.”
Banks, who now has deleted the tweets targeting Jackson, fired back by writing, “And you need to grow some hips and start [your] menses. Stay in a child’s place.” Skai responded with the blunt tweet, “When a no hip having 14 year old has more class than you. Worry about your career. Get one.”
Banks, apparently not interested in being dismissed by someone 10 years her junior, continued her tirade calling the Bunk’d star a “lil black b****” and a “thot in training.”
Jackson, clearly taking the high road, left the social media battle telling the rapper, “You give black women a bad name. I’ll be praying for you,” and to “take your L like a champ!”
The Slay-Z rapper later returned to her newly scrubbed social media account to offer an explanation and apology to both Malik and Jackson. In a cropped message taken from a phone screenshot, Banks attributed her behavior towards Zayn as being motivated by anger and feeling like the former boy band member “was too good to acknowledge” her.
Banks’ response to Jackson was less tame. The rapper claimed that Jackson’s mother was controlling the actress’ account and therefore Banks was in the right to say what she did. “I felt that since she’s a child she had no place in that argument,” she wrote.
