Now that Nicki Minaj has received the green light to executive produce and appear in a scripted comedy series for ABC Family, the rapper is looking for an actress to portray her younger self.
ABC Family has announced plans to hold online open auditions for the series, which is based on the rapper’s life growing up in Queens, New York. The network in seeking girls between the ages of 11 to13 to portray Minaj’s childhood in the ’90s after moving to the U.S. from Saint James, Trinidad and Tobago.
To access the script and upload an audition video, you can download the free Disney Applause app, select “ABC Family’s Online Open Call” and follow instructions. Submissions will be accepted through Sunday, November 15.
As previously reported, Minaj will executive produce the half-hour comedy series, which marks her first television project. “This is one of the more unique adventures I’ve ever embarked on,” Minaj said back in September. “I couldn’t be more proud and excited to team up with an amazing group of people to give the world something really special.”
