Nicki Minaj participated in a Twitter Q&A with her fans last night on the eve of the release of her latest single “Pills N Potions.” The rapper spilled about the recording process for the song and what she was aiming to give her Barbz with the new release.
The rapper said she recorded the song in New York City and Los Angeles, adding that creating the track “felt magical. Couldn’t stop playing for [weeks.]”
Nicki said the song was written with a “couple people” in mind and she became emotional because “people are ever-changing.” She adds that its accompanying video will give fans a chance to see her in a way that we “never” seen her before.
So what’s the message of the song? “[People] change. But love is forever,” she replied.
The Dr. Luke-produced song, which was co-written by Ester Dean, is available for purchase now.
