Beyonce reunites with Andre 3000 (they first collaborated on “Party,” off her album 4) for a cover of “Back to Black,” by the late Amy Winehouse. The track is the duo’s contribution to The Great Gatsby soundtrack, which Beyonce’s husband Jay-Z executive produced. Only a snippet of their collaboration surfaced online today (April 21.)
Beyonce and Andre 3000 slow down the original version like a heroin-laced outtake off of the Trainspotting soundtrack. Instead of belting her verse out, Beyonce whispers, while Andre 3000 buzzes over a nostalgic Aquemini leaky faucet beat.
