From R&B love songs to bass-bumping collab tracks, check out this week’s New Music Friday for the culture’s latest & greatest in music.
—Jeezy & DJ Drama, Snofall — Almost two years since dropping The Recession 2, the Snowman returns with his 13th studio album, a collaborative effort with the award-winning DJ. The 17-track collection includes features from Lil Durk, 42 Dugg & EST Gee.
—Soulja Boy, First To Do It — The Chicago-born rapper dropped off his latest project, a 12-song compilation of short tracks. It follows Big Draco 3 released earlier this year; its title falls in line with the “first-ever rapper” moniker he’s awarded himself.
—NBA YoungBoy, Ma’ I Got A Family — This special Gangsta Grills edition hosted by DJ Drama follows a long line of full-release projects (six) for the Baton Rouge rapper. According to his social media, he may be aiming for an additional four tapes by the end of the year.
—Coco Jones, “ICU” — The rising R&B star released her latest love ballad, a follow-up to popular singles “Love is War” and the Teyana-Taylor directed music video for “Caliber.”
—French Montana & Nav, “Fenty” — Named after the lifestyle line by Rihanna, the two rappers exchange bars about the luxuries of life over a beat with lots of bass.
—A Boogie ft. Tory Lanez, “Take Shots” — Ahead of the release of Me vs Myself, the New York rapper tapped Lanez for his latest single, a track about spoiling women the finer things in life.
