C Brandon/RedfernsThe Paterson, New Jersey, school district is investigating a Fetty Wap video that was filmed at one of its high schools.
Paterson native Wap shot the video for his latest single, “Wake Up,” at Eastside High School. The comical piece, released last week, features strippers in the cafeteria, students rolling dice in the hallway and teachers smoking pot in the classroom. The district is investigating who allowed the video to be filmed there.
Paterson school district spokeswoman Terry Corallo told NJ Advance Media, “As there are procedures that must be followed in securing the use of our facilities, whether all procedures were followed is in question and being investigated – and will be addressed as a personnel matter.”
Corallo did not disclose exactly when the video was shot but said the district determined the video was shot during off hours and that no students participated in the video. “The district does not endorse the content of this video,” Corallo added.
The Paterson school district has recently struggled with positive drug test results among students, many of them from marijuana and at Eastside High School, NJ Advance Media notes. The hip-hop star, born Willie Maxwell II, attended the school before dropping out.
Last summer, Wap gave a free concert for city high school students.
