While Chris Brown remains in a Virginia jail and awaits trial in Washington, D.C., for misdemeanor assault, the crooner has garnered sympathy from R&B peer Ne-Yo.
When asked his opinions on Brown’s current legal woes, Ne-Yo said he thinks the justice system has treated Brown unfairly because he’s a celebrity.
“Because of who he is, they’re making an example of him,” Ne-Yo told TMZ photogs. “Chris gon’ be all right … If I know anything about Chris, he’s a survivor, and he gon’ take care of himself. No matter what, he’ll be all right.”
Brown will face trial after the separate trial of bodyguard Christopher Hollosy, whose case goes before a judge Thursday. Brown and Hollosy were both charged with assault for allegedly hitting a man who attempted to board Brown’s tour bus outside a Washington hotel last October.
