Members DJ Yella, Dr. Dre, Ice Cube, MC Ren and the late Eazy-E will be inducted to the Hall at its 31st Annual Induction Ceremony, Friday, April 8, 2016 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. HBO will broadcast the ceremony in spring 2016.

It’s been a great year for the seminal but controversial Compton, California rap group that formed in 1986 and disbanded after 1991’s N*****4Life.  The biopic about the group, Straight Outta Compton, was released in August and became the highest-grossing music biopic of all time, reported Variety. Interest in the movie also drove sales of the group’s back catalog and even gave N.W.A. it’s first pop top-40 hit when “Straight Outta Compton,” cracked that threshold on the Billboard Hot 100 in August.
