Following the release of her latest album, Rebellious Soul, K. Michelle is gearing up for a fall tour to support her first studio effort, beginning next month.
The “V.S.O.P” singer tells ABC News Radio that she’s excited for the trek, dubbed the Rebellious Soul Tour. “It’s very exciting actually to, you know, really just always want to get your music out there, and now finally your music is appreciated,” she says. “The people are excited about it. It’s a great feeling.”
The Love & Hip Hop reality star will be accompanied by Sevyn Streeter, known for “It Won’t Stop” and “I Like It,” on the upcoming trek, which kicks off on November 4 in San Francisco, CA and wraps in Boston, MA on December 3. The singer says she knew Sevyn would be the perfect fit as her tour mate.
“I just wanted to do what I wanted to do [since] I was doing the tour on my own. I was like ‘Okay, let me take somebody out that’s up and coming and do girl power.’ I wanted to use her and I picked her,” Michelle says. The opportunity will broaden Sevyn’s fan-base and allow her to promote her debut EP, Call Me Crazy, But…, arriving Tuesday, November 5.
While Michelle is still in the beginning stages of preparing for the show and choosing the set-list, she says that performing is what she looks forward to the most.
“I would say just being on the stage, like everything else I really don’t like but I just like to see the fans’ faces,” she says. “I like to hear that they know every record, that’s a great feeling for any artist.”
K. Michelle encourages everyone to come out for the Rebellious Soul Tour, which she promises will be worth it. “This tour is just fun, like really what it is, is not a snoozer, it’s not ‘Oh my God, I’m going to go to sleep,’ I don’t do boring at all,” says Michelle.
She adds that “this tour is for the ladies to just come out there, you gon’ laugh, you gon’ cry, it’s just a good, grown, sexy fun night. So I’m excited.”
As previously reported, tickets for the 15-date outing, which makes stops in major markets including Chicago, Atlanta, Boston, Pittsburgh, Houston and Charlotte, are available via her official website now.
