Michael Jackson‘s mother, Katherine Jackson, has reportedly lost her bid for a new trial in her wrongful death lawsuit against AEG Live, the promoter of the King of Pop’s aborted This Is It tour, according to TMZ.
The Jackson family matriarch had argued the verdict form given to the jury in last year’s trial was confusing. A Los Angeles judge disagreed on Monday.
Jackson is expected to file an appeal with a higher state court.
Last October, the trial jury agreed that AEG Live hired Michael’s doctor, Conrad Murray, but rejected the claim that Murray was “unfit or incompetent to perform the work for which he was hired.”
Murray was convicted of involuntary manslaughter after giving Michael a fatal dose of the powerful anesthetic propofol. He was released from jail in October after serving two years of a four-year sentence.
