Before fans get to see the upcoming film Black Nativity, which stars Forest Whitaker, Angela Bassett, Tyrese Gibson and Jennifer Hudson, in theaters later this month, they will get to purchase the official soundtrack next week.
Mary J. Blige and Nas not only appear in the drama, but the pair have contributed to the soundtrack with their rendition of the classic spiritual “Rise Up Shepherd and Follow.” The set also includes songs from Hudson, Tyrese, Jacob Latimore and others. Fans can pre-order the soundtrack on iTunes now before it lands in stores on November 5.
The movie, which serves as the contemporary adaptation of Langston Hughes‘ celebrated “gospel-song play,” hits theaters just in time for the holidays, on November 27.
