Mariah Carey Scores $3 Million Victory in Concert Promoter Legal Battle

by

Mariah Carey can finally tell South American promoters, FEG Entretenimientos S.A. to “G.T.F.O” after a New York judge dismissed a $3 million judgment against her and her company.

Mariah originally sued the concert promoters for not paying her to perform which cause her shows to be canceled. She was then counter-sued for $1 million and another $2 million for defamation after Carey tweeted her fans about the canceled shows.

“Devastated my shows in Chile, Argentina & Brazil had to be canceled. My fans deserve better than some of these promoters treated them,” tweeted Carey. The judge ruled the tweet an “opinion”.

The promoters were dropped by their lawyer and without new representation by the court’s deadline, the case was dismissed.
