Image Courtesy Cash Money RecordsLil Wayne has nothing but great things to say about Nicki Minaj‘s highly anticipated album, The Pinkprint. In an interview with Complex, the rap veteran spills what fans can expect of her upcoming set.

“Her going back to her roots. Bar for bar straight lyrical content,” he tells the mag.  “Honestly, don’t know what to expect because she can be unpredictable at times when she gets in the studio.” Although he hasn’t previewed the disc in its entirety he adds, “From what I’ve heard I’m impressed on her metaphors. It’s like she’s painting pictures on some of these records.”

After taking Nicki under his wing, Wayne is in awe of how she’s developed over the years. “She’s grown a lot. The last album was showing her versatility — how she can make a straight hood/club banger and at the same time, still be dominant in the pop industry,” he says. “Now that she has tested the waters all she’s doing now is going back to where she enjoyed best.”

Weezy also gave his his reaction to her controversial “Anaconda” video: “I don’t have a few words. I got a few letters… ‘OMG,'” he says.

Nicki’s The Pinkprint arrives on December 15.
