The “Crush On You” rapper sported a lighter complexion and debuted a bleached blond hair do in a six photo collage on her Instagram page. Showing various duck-face expressions, the artist offers a simple caption, “Miami heat,” with a series of emojis.
Kim, who once had dark, black hair and light brown skin, was said to be completely unrecognizable in her Instagram collage. Fans, who immediately noticed the dramatic change, lit up social media commenting on how much lighter the rap queen’s skin tone now is.
“I feel very disturbed by #LilKim. I cannot believe what happened to her,” commented one user on twitter.
Another expressed disbelief writing, “Why Lil Kim? Why did you do that… Why why why.”
Some offered more supportive messages, saying:
“what kind of message are you sending to your daughter. This picture is the definition of self-hate. If Biggie could only see you now….so sad….you were beautiful the way God created you. You are in my prayers my black sister.”
Yesterday @LilKim’s photo went viral. Today teach your children about self love. Love the skin you’re in.
Lil Kim has not officially commented on her followers’ reaction to her new look. She did however post a video online celebrating her makeover with friends.
