Ross Gilmore/Redferns50 Cent boasted “I Get Money” in his 2007 hit, and now he can legally keep the money.

On Friday, a copyright lawsuit filed by Atlanta rapper Young Caliber in 2010 over the song  was dismissed in New York City, reports Billboard.  The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit ruled the case was “time-barred” because Young Caliber, whose legal name is Tyrone Simmons, waited too long to bring the suit, the magazine reports, citing a release from 50 Cent’s lawyer.

According to Billboard, lawyer David Leichtman said, “The plaintiff in the case claimed that he was the owner of the underlying beat of the track, but the appeals court affirmed an earlier ruling that the plaintiff had waited too long to raise his complaint.”
