Lloyd Bishop/NBCLauryn Hill will perform during the second annual Louis Armstrong’s Wonderful World Festival.
According to Billboard, the singer will showcase at the Flushing Meadows Corona Park in Queens, New York, on June 20 — just a few blocks from Armstrong’s longtime home on 107th St.
“We’re excited to bring Ms. Lauryn Hill to headline,” says Jeffrey Rosenstock, executive director of Kupferberg Center. “The first major music festival to plant its flag in [New York]’s most diverse borough [Queens]” is designed to “celebrate Louis’ vision of listening to ‘all kinds of music.’”
This year’s festival, which takes place from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m., is ticketed but free — visit ArmstrongsWonderfulWorld.com for more.
