Tha Alumni Music Group/88 Classic/RCA RecordsIt looks like Kid Ink‘s holiday strategy for his latest album, Summer in the Winter, paid off. The rapper’s set, which arrived Christmas Day, debuts at No. 10 on Billboard‘s Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart and No. 8 on Rap Albums.
According to the publication, the set bows with 11,000 units sold the week ending Dec. 31, becoming Kid’s fifth top-10 set on both lists. “We put this project together organically without aiming for a bunch of radio hits, just vibing in the studio having fun like the old mixtape days,” he previously explained.
Executive-produced by DJ Mustard, the 11-track project includes guest appearances from Fetty Wap, Omarion and Akon, as well as additional production from J Holt, Twice as Nice, d.a. doman and The Featherstones.
Elsewhere on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, Bryson Tiller leaps from #9 to #2 with Trapsoul, Fetty Wap‘s self-titled set climbs from #11 to #5, and Future‘s DS2 jumps from #16 to #6.
