Keyshia Cole made an appearance on BET’s 106 & Park to debut the video for her Elijah Blake-penned ballad, “I Choose You.”
In the black-and-white visual, the singer is in love with two men and she struggles to choose the one with whom she ultimately wants to be. “Even if he gives me the world it’ll never be enough/Cause I choose you,” she belts in the hook.
Before premiering the clip, Keyshia revealed why “I Choose You” needed to be included on her latest album, Woman to Woman. “Mary [J. Blige] sung it before I did and Jennifer Hudson sung it before I did as well and neither one of them took it,” said Keyshia on the 106 & Park. “When I recorded it, we definitely paid for it right away. We was like, ‘Nobody else is recording this song. We’re taking it.'”
The singer also addressed the rumors surrounding marital issues with her husband, Daniel “Boobie” Gibson. “It’s all good. I’m living my life and I’m trying to do the best that I can do and the best way that I can do it,” she said. “If they wanna keep talking, they can keep talking. God is good to me and he’s blessed me so much.”
In other news, Keyshia recently tweeted that she’s hit the studio with Wyclef Jean to work on her next album.
