C Flanigan/WireImageKendrick Lamar will help Stephen Colbert begin his run as Late Show host next month.
Colbert announced Monday that the rapper will be his first musical guest on the CBS show.
Noting that Lamar was his last musical guest on his old Comedy Central program, The Colbert Report, Colbert said at the Television Critics Association summer press tour in Beverly Hills, “I’d love for him to be my first musical guest. In fact, he will be my first musical guest.”
David Letterman‘s successor makes his Late Show debut September 8.
