Following his two Grammy wins for “i,” Kendrick Lamar has surprised fans with a new song “The Blacker the Berry.”
In the new racially themed track, produced by Boi-1da and posted on YouTube, the Compton rapper delivers socially conscious verses.
“Came from the bottom of mankind / My hair is nappy, my d**k is big, my nose is rounded / You hate me don’t you,” Kendrick spits. “You hate my people, your plan is to terminate my culture / You’re f**king evil / I want you to recognize that I’m a proud monkey / You vandalize my perception, but can’t take style from me.”
The powerful song is the second offering from Lamar’s sophomore album, due out later this year.
