R. Kelly, Fantasia and John Legend are among the artists included on the official soundtrack for The Best Man Holiday, due out next month.
The upcoming film, which is the sequel to the 1999 release of The Best Man, will feature 13 tracks of original material, as well as holiday classics, performed by platinum-selling acts like Monica, Marsha Ambrosius, Anthony Hamilton, Jordin Sparks, Mariom, and Emeli Sandé, among others.
The disc also boasts production credits from The Underdogs, David Foster, Jermaine Dupri, Ne-Yo, Charlie Wilson, and Malcolm D. Lee, the film’s writer and director, who said in a statement, “I am a firm believer that music is essential to the entirety of a film going experience. The Best Man Holiday soundtrack is no exception.” Malcolm adds, “The songs listed here not only make up the fabric of the movie, but many served as inspiration to the creation of the screenplay.”
The soundtrack will be available for pre-order on October 15 at iTunes. The Best Man Holiday arrives in theaters nationwide on November 15.
