After unveiling his official artwork for The Life of Pablo, Kanye West debuted several songs from his seventh studio album in front of a packed audience Thursday afternoon at Madison Square Garden.
During the show, Kanye made his grand entrance with Lamar Odom as well as the entire Kardashian clan, and then began playing the album off his laptop in the arena. Yeezy kicked things off by debuting “Ultra Light Beam” with Chance the Rapper and The-Dream.
Kanye then delivered “Famous” featuring production from Swizz Beatz and vocals from Rihanna. “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex / I made that b**** famous,” Kanye raps over the track, which includes a sample of Sister Nancy‘s “Bam Bam.”
On another track called “Highlights,” Kanye boldly references Kim Kardashian‘s ex-boyfriend, Ray J, as well as new couple Rob Kardashian and Blac Chyna. “I bet me and Ray J would be friends / If we ain’t love the same b****.”
In addition to selecting The Weeknd and Travis Scott on the track “FML,” Kanye managed to pull Frank Ocean out of his hiatus on “Wolves” with Sia and Vic Mensa. “Cover Nori in the lamb’s wool/We’re surrounded by the f***** wolves,” West raps of his daughter.
The album also includes “Real Friends” with Ty Dolla $ign and “Fade,” featuring Ty and Post Malone.
There were plenty of celebrities in attendance like Big Sean, A$AP Rocky, 50 Cent, 2 Chainz, Tyga and of course, G.O.O.D. Music president, Pusha T. In addition, Young Thug and Naomi Campbell were models in the show.
