Kanye West has revealed the process behind his Instagram record-breaking wedding photo with Kim Kardashian.
During an interview at the Cannes Lions Creativity Conference in France, West explained that their popular photo took four days to perfect he claims due to famed photographer Annie Leibovitz backing out of snapping the couple the day before their ceremony in Florence.
According to the New York Post‘s Page Six, ‘Ye believes Leibovitz opted against shooting their wedding because she was “scared of the idea of celebrity.” Leibovitz, of course, is famous for a career of more than 30 year photographing celebrities like John Lennon, Queen Elizabeth II, Michael Jackson, Bill Gates and the Obama family, among many others.
The newlyweds were left to edit the image, even though Kim apparently wanted to release it immediately.
“Can you imagine telling someone who wants to just Instagram a photo, who’s the No. 1 person on Instagram, ‘We need to work on the color of the flower wall,’ or the idea that it’s a Givenchy dress, and it’s not about the name Givenchy, it’s about the talent that is Riccardo Tisci — and how important Kim is to the Internet?” West said.
