John Legend continues to wrack up new projects for his Get Lifted production company. After working on the upcoming TVseries Underground, the singer has signed on to produce a stage show for Neal Brennan, the comedian and co-creator of Chappelle’s Show.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Legend’s production team will produce Brennan’s New York City theatrical debut next month. The limited engagement will see the funnyman alternating between three separate microphones while touching on various topics including race, gender and personal experiences with depression — there will even be a mic dedicated to one-liners.
The show begins previews on February 23 before a March 3 opening night at the Lynn Redgrave Theater.
In other John Legend news, the singer has a role in an upcoming film called La La Land, starring Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling.
