Ian Gavan/Getty Images for GucciJohn Legend didn’t mince words when he engaged in a Twitter conversation with Donald Trump Jr. and called his father, Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump, a “racist.”
It all began Friday, when Trump Jr. commented on his dad’s cancelled Chicago rally amid protests. “Ha 5 students when asked why they were protesting couldn’t even answer. The participation medal/micro aggression generation is pretty sad!”
Legend replied directly to the tweet: “I think they were protesting your racist father. This isn’t complicated.”

Trump Jr. chose to not let the comment slide. He wrote back to the singer, “Here we go again. That can’t be the answer for everything you don’t like. That’s why the country is so divided now!”
Legend fired back, “no. It’s just the answer when racist racists are saying racist s*** and are endorsed by the KKK.”
Legend continued to express his dismay with Trump on Twitter throughout the weekend.
