Back in April, John Legend announced that he was teaming up with Step Up 5 writer John Swetnam to create a new coming-of-age dance flick, titled Breaking Through. Now, the singer is seeking talented dancers for the film.
Legend has partnered with DanceOn, the multi-channel YouTube network co-founded by Madonna, to create a platform for aspiring dancers to submit their audition videos.
Applicants are encouraged to make a video that showcases their best dance moves for the chance to attend a live event held in Los Angeles on August 29, which will be included in the movie.
“We partnered with DanceOn because this movie is all about dancing and YouTube and we want you to be a part of it,” Legend says in a statement. “DanceOn and Breaking Through are bringing together the most talented dancers, creators and choreographers and we want you to be there too…Everyone who submits gets an opportunity to be in the film. So get out there, grab your camera and get to work!” he adds.
