In less than two weeks, Joe Budden will release his third studio album, All Love Lost, which includes the lead single, “Broke.” The rapper tells ABC Radio the new album is a culmination of something he’s been working on for a while.
“All Love Lost is the end of a trilogy and I’m excited about it. I’m very proud of this body of work,” he says. “I’m real anxious for people to hear and it’s just discussing many different relationships and many different capacities and all the emotional roller coasters that go along with it.”
The rapper, who delivered his last album, No Love Lost, in 2013 adds that fans can expect strong lyrics on his new effort. “It’s very detailed,” he says, “a lot of storytelling, real graphic and in-depth.”
After more than a decade in the industry, it’s hard to believe that his upcoming effort is only his third studio effort as a solo recording artist. So when will he hang up his mic? “When I don’t have anymore to say, when I’m no longer passionate, then I’m going to stop. That can be tomorrow, that can be 10 years from now, I honestly couldn’t call it,” he says. “I still get inspired, like, I’ll hear a great beat and words come to my mind, but the day where I’m no longer inspired and I hear no words, I’m hanging it up, man.”
All Love Lost, which includes guest appearances from Marsha Ambrosius and Jadakiss, will be released on October 16. The set is available for pre-order now.
In related news, Joe is scheduled to begin his North American outing in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania on October 30.
