Jennifer Hudson will be recognized as the Favorite Humanitarian at The People’s Choice Awards which will be presented tonight in Los Angeles.
Hudson was chosen for her Julian D. King Gift Foundation, an organization benefiting children which she and her sister named after their slain nephew. Hudson says, “My sister Julia and I were raised with the belief that helping others was always very important. I am so grateful that the People’s Choice Awards and Walgreens [presenter of the award] have come together in the same spirit.” She continues, “This spotlight will provide us with the opportunity to share all the amazing work being done by the Julian D. King Gift Foundation for children in the city of Chicago and around the United States.”
In the music categories, Justin Timberlake may be the big winner of the night as he’s up for five awards. He’s nominated for Favorite R&B Artist; Favorite Male Artist; Favorite Pop Artist; Favorite Song, for “Mirrors”; and Favorite Album for The 20/20 Experience. He’s up against Robin Thicke for Favorite Album and also Favorite R&B Artist. The R&B nominees also include Rihanna, Alicia Keys, and Ciara.
The completion for Favorite Hip-Hop Artist should also be hot among nominees Jay-Z, Kanye West, Drake, Lil Wayne and the duo of Macklemore & Ryan Lewis.
The winners are determined by fan voting on The People’s Choice website. The People’s Choice Awards airs live at 9 p.m. ET on CBS.
