Ethan Miller/BET/Getty Images for BET Jazmine Sullivan and Chrisette Michelle have always embraced their full figures, which no doubt is at last partly the reason the divas have been tapped to cover the the March 2016 issue of EBONY magazine‘s body issue.
On the front page, the entertainers don military-inspired outfits and heels while standing next to Orange Is the New Black actress Danielle Brooks and swimsuit designer/plus size fashion blogger Gabi Fresh.
While the publication questions the “love-hate relationship” that society has with curvy women, Jazmine writes in her Instagram, “I don’t know abt the other girls, but I was so nervous!! Thank u @ebonymagazine for helping me to see my beauty and believing in my #sexy! S/o to the beautiful women gracing this cover w me @daniebb3 @gabifresh @chrisettemichele u girls were inspiring.”
Chrisette also shared what the cover meant to her: “I never knew I was ‘Curvy’ until I was asked ‘what’s it like to be a curvy girl in the music industry’. Our bodies occur to people more than they occur to us and sometimes we have to stop and sit to talk about them,” Michele wrote. “Beauty comes in all shapes and sizes and when the issue of curves is deleted, we will all just celebrate beauty. For now… Let’s talk about me and my girls sexy ass CURVES! I’m on the cover of @ebonymagazine!!! HALF NEKKID!!! And I’m SO PROUD!”
