Jay-Z will not perform at the 2018 Super Bowl halftime show, according to Hot New Hip Hop. Although he may not perform 4:44 at the major televised event, Jay-Z is taking his 13th studio album on tour this fall. The speculation of the turn came from support of Colin Kaepernick, who previously received a shoutout during the Medows Music and Arts Festival.
The NFL responded to the statement on Wednesday with a statement that doesn’t make it clear who, exactly, has been approached for next year’s halftime show. “No decisions have been made on the performer(s) and we are not going to speculate on particular artists,” an NFL spokesperson told Complex. ”
