Shortly after asking if her fans were ready, Janelle Monae has released the full-length video of her new single, “Primetime,” featuring Miguel.
In the Blade Runner-inspired visual, Monae depicts her alter-ego named Cindi Mayweather, who falls in love Joey Vice — played by Miguel — inside the Electric Sheep nightclub. After the pair exit the club, their on-screen chemistry heats up as they go for a late-night stroll in the metropolis known as Slop City.
“The new ‘primetime’ emotion picture is one of my fav videos of all Time,” Monae tweeted of her Alan Ferguson-directed clip.
Their infectious duet is off Janelle’s critically acclaimed album, The Electric Lady, available in stores now.
