Janelle Monae Confirmed for Moogfest 2014

Photo Credit: Marc BaptisteJanelle Monae has been tapped to speak at this year’s Moogfest 2014, which is an annual music festival and conference that celebrates new technology and creative expression.

According to the event’s official website, Monae will discuss her “psychedelic soul music” and “dystopian futurism” that’s heard on her latest albums, The Electric Lady and The ArchAndroid. She will be joined by producers Nate Rocket Wonder and Chuck Lightning for the daytime program.

Super-producer Nile Rodgers will also speak at the event and there will be in-depth discussion with electronic music pioneer Giorgio Moroder and Futurama‘s David X. Cohen, among others.

Q-Tip and M.I.A. have been added as some of the many performers for the five-day event, which will take place in Asheville, North Carolina from April 23 to April 27.  To purchase passes, visit the Moogfest.com.
