Photo courtesy of Taj WashingtonJ. Cole will begin 2016 with his very own HBO special, titled J. Cole Forest Hills Drive: Homecoming.
According to the network, the 90-minute special is part concert film and part backstage pass, offering an introspective look into his life story, told through his own words and music.
As for the concert footage, Cole will perform all 13 songs from his third album, 2014 Forest Hills Drive, which became the first hip-hop album in 25 years to go platinum without any featured guests. Viewers can expect special appearances by Jay Z and Drake, who joined him on stage during his hometown show at Crown Coliseum in Fayetteville, North Carolina back in August.
Directed by Scott Lazer, J. Cole Forest Hills Drive: Homecoming airs Saturday, January 9, at 10 p.m. ET.
