Kanye West just might be making a play to get into the furniture business. The mogul visited the official headquarters of IKEA in Sweden this week, prompting many to believe that there may be a collaboration in the works.
“Super inspired by my visit to Ikea today,” tweeted ‘Ye on Tuesday night. “Really amazing company… my mind is racing with the possibilities.”
Without going into details, the furniture giant also confirmed the meeting. “At IKEA we are constantly curious about different people, companies, artists and events around the world,” the company told the New York Daily News. “To have these connections and inspiring meetings is an important way for us to find new ways to create a better everyday life for the many people.”
The possibility of a Kanye West line with IKEA isn’t too far fetched, especially since he has distant ties to the company: He hired London-based designer Katie Eary, who currently offers a limited-edition furniture collaboration through the Swedish company, to work on his Paris Fashion Week collection in 2011.
