Image Group LA/ABCIn last month’s GQ, Iggy Azalea said of her first arena tour — the upcoming “Great Escape” trek — quote, “I’d like it to not be my last arena tour.” But now, a new report claims that the tour is in trouble, thanks to the rapper’s estrangement from her team.
The website The Wrap quotes sources “with knowledge of the situation” as saying that the tour — which will feature opening act Nick Jonas — is “on the verge of cancellation” because Iggy has been unresponsive to her management’s requests to promote it. The sources say that Iggy is not in sync with her team, and won’t commit to doing crucial publicity to move tickets.
Iggy made headlines in recent days by announcing that she’s taking a break from social media, quitting both Twitter and Instagram following several well-publicized feuds with other artists.
Reps for Iggy and the tour promoter haven’t commented on the report. The tour is set to kick off April 14 in Fresno, California.
