ABC/Randy HolmesIggy Azalea and her NBA star boyfriend, Nick Young,have gotten engaged — and it all happened at his 30th birthday party.
According to footage shot Monday night by Nick’s friend, blogger Karen Civil, Nick can be heard shouting, “Will she marry me?” while down on one knee in front of Iggy. Apparently surprised and delighted, Iggy answers “Yes!” to cheers. Karen tweeted the video of the proposal with the caption: “Swaggy P celebrated his birthday tonight by popping the question to his girlfriend Iggy!”
Iggy couldn’t wait to share photos of the yellow canary diamond engagement ring. She posted one photo on her Instagram showing off her ring with the caption, “Happiest Day #Isaidyes.” Another photo shows the two kissing, while the Australian rapper conspicuously displays her new bling. That caption reads “Love you @swaggyp1.”
Before Iggy knew Nick was going to propose, she wished her soon-to-be fiance a happy birthday. She wrote on Instagram, “Happy 30th to my now old man nick! I’ll save the really mushy stuff for inside your birthday card that way you can blackmail me with it later. For now it’s just a simple: I looooove you, I’d do anything for you. Glad you exist etc etc. Ps. If we get old together don’t die before me. (Jk).”
The two have been dating for nearly two years. Nick told DuJour magazine last November the two had just purchased a house together.
Since Iggy recently canceled her planned arena tour, we assume she’ll now have plenty of time to plan her wedding.
