ABC/Randy HolmesIce Cube is in talks with New Line Cinema to star in an upcoming comedy called Fist Fight.
According to Deadline, the rapper-turned-actor may join Charlie Day in film, which is based on the ’80s cult hit Three O’Clock High. However, in the new version Day plays a mild-mannered English teacher who is put to the test when one of his colleagues who thinks he is trying to get him fired challenges him to a fist fight after school.
While producers are meeting with directors now, the production is rumored to begin in September.
The project is just one of many that Cube has in the pipeline: He is currently is shooting Barbershop 3; he’s co-produced the N.W.A. biopic Straight Outta Compton, due out August 14; and Ride Along 2 with Kevin Hart will hit theaters on Martin Luther King Jr. Day weekend 2016.
