Russell Neal, a member of the 1990s R&B group Hi-Five, has been charged with murder following the death of his wife.
Police who spoke with KHOU-TV say Neal appeared at a sheriff’s office station last Wednesday and stated his wife, 24-year-old Catherine Martinez, was dead inside their west Houston apartment. Fire officials later found Martinez’s body, which had suffered multiple stab wounds as well as apparent blunt force trauma, inside the apartment.
Neal, 40, only told investigators that he and his wife had gotten into an argument.
The couple had two children, who are currently placed with relatives.
Hi-Five is best known for their hit “I Like the Way (The Kissing Game).”
