Gucci Mane has been sentenced to two-and-a-half years behind bars after striking a plea deal with prosecutors over a gun charge.
According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the rapper, who was born Radric Davis, pleaded guilty to possession of a firearm by a convicted felon on Tuesday in federal court. The charge carries a maximum sentence of 10 years and a fine of $250,000, but Gucci received 39 months under the terms of his plea deal.
The paper reports that he also will receive 10 months credit for time served. The rapper will be sentenced officially in July — he’s scheduled to be released in late 2016.
Davis has remained in an Atlanta jail since September after he was arrested for possessing a loaded handgun and marijuana.
