Gucci Mane was arraigned in an Atlanta court on Tuesday on federal gun possession charges.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that the rapper, born Radric Davis, was charged with two counts of gun possession by a convicted felon. The charges stem from two separate incidents in September. According to the federal indictment, Davis was in possession of a Taurus 45-caliber handgun and eight rounds of ammunition on September 12. Two days later, the indictment claims, he was in possession of a Glock 40-caliber handgun and 11 rounds of ammunition.
As previously reported the rapper was arrested September 14 after a friend of Gucci’s called authorities out of concern for the rapper’s behavior, at which point he was charged with carrying a concealed weapon, disorderly conduct and possession of marijuana.
If convicted on each count, Davis faces up to 20 years in federal prison and fines up to $500,000. He is due back in federal court early January.
