A family friend who piloted a personal watercraft in the accident that killed Usher’s 11-year-old stepson Kile Glover was convicted of homicide by vessel on Thursday in a Hall County, Georgia, courtroom.
Jeffrey Simon Hubbard was also convicted of serious injury by vessel, unlawful operation of personal watercraft, reckless operation, and a boat traffic violation, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Kile, who was the son of Usher’s former wife, Tameka Raymond, and television executive Ryan Glover, was floating on a towed inner tube with a 15-year-old girl when they were hit by Hubbard’s watercraft on July 6, 2012. Kile suffered a massive brain injury as a result of the crash, and never regained consciousness.
Hubbard is scheduled to be sentenced on March 5.
