Fetty Wap will cap off the year with a high note. The Grammy-nominated rapper tops MTV’s list of Best Artists of 2015.
Wap is heralded for being the first artist to have his or her first four songs crack the top ten on the Billboard Hot Rap Songs chart. He is the fifth artist to receive the distinction of being named MTV’s Best Artist of the Year — past honorees including Sam Smith last year.
In addition, Fetty’s “Trap Queen” joins The Weeknd‘s “Can’t Feel My Face” and Kendrick Lamar‘s “Alright” in the Best Song ranking, which sees Drake’s “Hotline Bling” at number one.
The news comes just a day after Fetty received his first Grammy nomination, in the Best Rap Performance category. “Blessed this year thank you,” he tweeted.
