Fabolous’ The Young OG Project Makes Chart Debut

FabolousThe Young OG Project has landed just shy of a top ten debut on the Billboard 200 album chart this week.

According to the publication, Fab’s long-awaited sixth studio effort bowed at #12, with 71,000 in sales and streams since its Christmas Day release.

The rapper expressed his gratitude via Instagram. “Thank You! 71k sold in 5 days of a ALL DIGITAL ALBUM!! #TheYoungOGProject was put together in a month,” he wrote in the caption. “NO big radio single lead out, NO national promo, NO tour, NO CD in stores, NO over the top marketing, NO corporate sponsors, NO TV exposure.. just YOU ALL!”

He added, “People who appreciate my music & support it. Again I THANK YOU. And into the new year I will continue to work this project & make more #Moves!! P.S. Yall owed me that $10 for the 3 Free Mixtapes.”

Elsewhere, Nicki Minaj‘s The Pinkprint remains in the #2 spot for a second consecutive week, with an additional 156,000 in sales and streams. Meanwhile, J. Cole’s 2014 Forest Hills Drive slipped to #6  with 120,000 in sales and streams.
