According to ABC’s WPVI -TV, one man died and another is in critical condition following an altercation inside Che Bar & Grill that spread into the street along Stenton Avenue in Philadelphia’s West Oak Lane neighborhood in the early morning hours.
“We believe that both of the victims, as well as the perpetrator, were all inside of this bar and that’s when an argument started,” said Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small. Police have not identified the names of the victims.
Minaj announced the news on Twitter Wednesday. “Two members of my team were stabbed last night in Philly. One was killed. They had only been there for two days rehearsing for the tour,” she tweeted. Nicki adds on Instagram: “Another senseless act of violence that took the life of a great guy. So sad.”
Her hip-hop peer Fabolous also expressed his disbelief following the tragedy via Instagram. “My heart is heavy right now” Fab begins, noting that he was thinking of the victims before learning the news. “I am still in shock & don’t want to believe this. And it hurts even more knowing how good these two dudes are. How hard these guys work. And how loyal they are to whoever they are down with & each other.”
Witnesses say a man in his 30s with a full beard fled the scene in a gray Buick LeSabre.
