Erykah Badu Announced as Host of the Soul Train Awards 2015


Image Courtesy Marc BaptisteErykah Badu has signed on to host this year’s Soul Train Awards, taking place next month.

It will mark the singer’s second time serving as an emcee for the ceremony, which takes place at Orleans Arena in Las Vegas November 6. Badu previously hosted with Patti Labelle and the late Heavy D during the 1998 show.

The network has also announced that Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds will receive the Legend Award while Jill Scott will accept the first-ever Lady of Soul Award at the ceremony.

The Weeknd is tied with five nominations alongside the duo behind “Uptown Funk,” Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars, while BeyonceChris Brown, Jidenna and Tyrese  follow close behind, with four nominations each.

The Soul Train Awards 2015 will air November 29 at 8 p.m. on BET and Centric.
