In the same way that Kendrick Lamar stirred up rappers with his lethal verse on Big Sean‘s “Control,” Elle Varner admits that she hit the studio after she heard Beyonce‘s buzz single, “Bow Down,” where King B essentially proclaimed that she’s above all her female R&B peers.
“I actually made a song kind of dissing everybody,” Elle tells AllHipHop.com. “It’s called ‘Coming for Your Neck.’ Who knows, I might put it out. But at the end of the day, I’m a writer and I’m a great writer…I just have to think about what I release and if it fits my brand.”
While Varner confessed that she loved the beat to “Bow Down,” in regards to the lyrical content, Elle adds, “I think that she already was above everybody without needing to say it.”
